Massage and Peace

When people think of massage, the first thing that comes to mind is leaving their stressful life to be in a state of relaxation and peace for a whole hour. Wouldn’t it be nice to have the secret to make all your life feel like that hour? When you tell someone that you are “stressed out”, you are using these words to express the feeling you’re experiencing inside from being out of balance. The opposite of this Yang feeling of stress is the Yin feeling of peace as you experience your body being in homeostasis. The one condition is killing us and the other results in an abundant life. To really understand the life changing significance of these “feelings” is to travel back in time with the author of a book that is a “groundbreaking interpretation of prayer, quantum science and prophecy”.

Gregg Braden, in his fascinating work on the quantum science of prayer, The Isaiah Effect, says that thought and emotion equals feeling. Braden travels all over the world researching the ancient wisdom found in the teachings of mystery schools and sacred orders and in records such as the Dead Sea Scrolls. God has lead him on a treasure hunt. The driving force has been a knowing that something was hidden in all these ancient places that was meant for us to figure out or decipher with modern technology. Throughout history prophets/mystics have been given visions of the future that resulted in a unique way of living and praying and these things were preserved in books and verbally passed down within the generations of certain small groups of holy people who live in remote places in the world. While these people treasure and honor what they possess, their understanding is limited by having been kept in a time capsule and they can’t see the full significance and potential of what they have. Without the experience and knowledge of tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that, to build on, it is impossible for anyone to see the future of things. It can only be seen darkly. What we do have with the future is the effect we can have on it when we go to the past. With what we know today, we can look back to the past and see it clearly and it changes our thoughts and as a result we make different life changing decisions. Gregg Braden’s passion has been to go back in time to what was lost yet preserved in some kind of sacred time lock and bring something to the present world to change it and change the course it is taking. To find the fullest meaning to the words “feeling” and “peace”, he traveled to the “roof of the world”, which was half way around the world, fourteen days across the rugged terrain of the Tibetan highlands, having to “acclimate over two miles above sea level for a week or so, then endless clouds of dust while navigating jeep trails carved into the sheer face of cliff walls to find this monastery at fifteen thousand feet into the Himalayas.”

For the practical purpose of changing the present course of the world to a place of peace, the word “feeling” came to mean that the purest form of prayer had no words to it and no outward expression. The mystics, monks, holy people had for centuries prayed in this way. Thoughts give direction to emotions and then the resulting feelings effect change. It begins in each of the hearts of a group of people and reaches out into the world. Braden put the great Tibetan Abbott’s words through his quantum physics mind and has brought it to the world with the hope that it would be used on a global scale. The Bleep reported this truth as well. When a group of people came to Washington D.C. before the summer one year and prayed with the intention of peace and specifically to lower the crime rate that summer by 25 percent. With skeptical eyes gazing upon them at first, it happened as it had happened in dozens of scientific trials before.

Starting with thoughts you change stress to peace and you change wishful thinking to reality. Energy follows thoughts or as Braden put it “Energy follows attention.” Thoughts alone have very little energy. When you add emotion to them, they become powerful. “The power of prayer is found in a force that cannot be spoken or transmitted as the written word – the feelings that the prayer’s words evoke in us…feeling is the prayer!” Your imagination will conjure up many possibilities for your future. The thoughts that you want to become reality is the truth that you find on your spiritual journey through life, the inner life you have while the outer is going on. The clearer truth gets the more powerful it becomes and your life changes accordingly. Clearer means more in line with what is right so that things can go more the way of balance. When your emotions (and usually it's fear) are the force driving you and wrong thoughts are doing the steering, you are going to have a self-serving life of stress followed by illnesses and disappointments.

If you have right thinking in combination with healthy emotions, you reach a higher level. Your life is peaceful and you have something to give others, especially your spouse and children, to get them to that place of balance. You also find yourself praying with good intentions. Are you praying with the intention to usher us into the world according to the Gospel of Peace? Or are you praying only out of fear for the money you need and a cure for a health issue?

“Peace I leave you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives you. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” “Seek ye first the Kingdom, and all these things will be added unto you.” This is the same principal in all of healing. Find the root of the problem and the rest fixes itself. Fear is the root and the cure is love.
